Sandra Monterroso is a Guatemalan artist and designer, currently residing in Vienna, Austria, where she is undertaking a PhD in at the Viennese Akademie der bildenden Künste [Academy of Fine Arts]. Known for her performance art, as well as her work in video art, installations and mixed media, she looks to relate her work to questions about power structures, gender issues and post-colonial thinking. In 2015, she is representing Guatemala at the 56th Venice Biennale.
