Mia Doornaert is a Flemish journalist, working for the Belgian newspaper De Standaard and as an independent expert on international issues.
She studied classical philology before taking up her post with De Standaard. While working as a journalist, Mia Doornaert has also worked on the board of the Association of Professional Belgian Journalists [AVBB] and was, from 1986-1992, president of the International Federation of Journalists.
Mia Doornaert also briefly worked in the Belgium Foreign Ministry under Yves Laterme.
