Linda Bouws has been the director of Felix Meritis since 2002. She graduated in theatre sciences and Dutch language and literature and since the 80’s she has been actively involved in international cultural life, focusing mainly on the arts, media, cultural policy and international cooperation. She initiated the Dutch Arts Channel and has now been its director for over ten years. She was also one of the organisers of Amsterdam’s Cultural Capital of Europe [1987] celebrations. In the past she has directed a variety of European festivals, such as the East-European theatre festival Paradise Lost, The Video Dance Festival in Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich and Paris, the Theatre Tape Festival and Georgian Days. She has also been a jury member for several other festivals.
