Iara Boubnova is an art historian and one of the founders of the Sofia Institute for Contemporary Art. She has been the curator of several leading art projects in the field of contemporary art and holds a doctorate in the history of contemporary art from the Russian Academy of Arts.
Born in Moscow, Iara Boubnova has lectured in the Visual Arts and Communication Department of the New Bulgarian University and has curated over 25 individual and group shows in Bulgaria as an independent curator.
A graduated of the Moscow State University’s Department of History of Art, Theory and Criticism, Iara undertook postgraduate studies in art policies and management in London and New York before completing her doctorate in Russia.
