Myriam Francois-Cerrah

Myriam Francois-Cerrah is an English political commentator, specialising in Islamic issues both in Western societies and within the Middle East. She is also in the process of pursuing an academic career. Having obtained a BA in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University and an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University, she is currently studying for a DPhil focussing on Islamic movements in Morocco at Oxford University.

Myriam has previously worked as an assistant editor at emel magazine, for MEND [Middle East Non Violence and Democracy] in Jerusalem and as a researcher with the European Muslim Research Centre at Exeter University.

As a commentator, Myriam has regularly participated in debates on platforms such as BBC Newsnight, The New Statesman, The Independent, the BBC’s Big Questions, Index on Censorship and The Times.
